My research explores the intersection of societal insecurity, identity and collective action, with a focus on Turkey, Greece, Southeastern Europe and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Bringing political sociology into dialogue with cultural analysis and social history, I examine how forms of collective life are imagined and sustained, and why only some affective, emotional and cognitive materials acquire plausibility and durability.
